Begginer Questions

I've tried to find this information out reading through different guides but im kind of lost with what size pot and what type of light im using atm.

Alright im as new as you get when it comes to growing and I was hoping to get a few suggestions and comments on what im doing. Say immediately after germination stage you plant in a smaller pot untill growth has really come into effect for the final transport of your plant. Now I have these tiny little leaves poking there noggins above the surface, and that the seedlings are properly placed in the dirt how long between periods would you give it plant food and water so im not drowing or burning my little buddy. Right now being the cheap ass that I am im using a 70 watt bulb (LOW I know...) untill I buy everything I need for this I was wondering how long exactly should I allow this to continue under such low wattage before One: moving it to its final home and Two: when its time to get a 400 Watt? Also, I read the instructions on the box for feeding it plant food and not really sure exactly how much plant food or water I should probably be giving it. Any suggestions towards this?

Here is a picture of how big the pot im using is at this moment and the stage they are showing.

(short summary)
How often should you water your plant?
How often should you feed it plant food and about what time in a plants life would be best to start giving them this food..
About what time in the plants life or what size it should become before using a better source of light like a 400 watt bulb?
and how much plant food should be mixed with how much water to properly feed a plant the size of the one shown in that size of a pot shown in picture.

water only when your pots become dry. Stick your finger in an inch if it is dry then it is time to water.
Wait for at least four sets of leaves to begin any ferts unless they show signs of deficiencies.
Fertilizer should be used very sparingly from the start. use 1/4 strenth or less building up to full strenth over time. every other time you water or every third time is about right for a fertilizing schedule.
After the first few sets of fan leaves a big light would promote faster growth than a cfl will.

Hey man how it's going? I'll try and answer some of your questions.

First is this a 70w incandescent bulb? If so you'll need to be getting rid of that and investing in some CFLs (compact fluoros, the spiral bulbs), then place the light about an inch or two above the top.

Water when the soil a few inches down (near root level) is almost completely dry, and then you water it until water is coming out the drainage holes then leave it for 3-7 more days before watering again (depending on the size of your pot)

Don't give it food for about the first month, the soil should have everything it needs, then start with fertilizer mixed at 1/3 - 1/4 normal strength.

You can get through vegetative growth with CFls but you'll definitely want to invest in an HPS light for flowering. If it's only one plant 400w will be way more than sufficient, you could support a few plants with that.

I added pictures, forgot to when I first posted..

Ballin how much water you think for this size pot at this moment would be just enough to keep it fed for a while so its not to little or to much.

I bought the bulb from money deficiency at this moment untill tax returns but from memory on what ive read. On the package was like eco.. ego bulb or some shit and I had that and a 400 watt in my hand and figured id take the 70w untill this shit gets movin a bit and see how things are going and start investing in some more here and there as it goes..

get a 7 buck shop light it will work for vegging if your not gonna go reasl big.Save money for a good 400 watt switchable ballast around $200 for setup and then you have the ability to have mh and hps in 1 ballast just need 2 bulbs.

I cant answer that as there are way to many variables. Just water it till you see a trickle of water out of the holes in the bottom of the pot.

My ultimate goal isnt to far fetched for me.. I dont plan on mass producing or trying to grow several for the quickest results. More like 1-3 plants and studyin the shit in the beggining find the best way for my own personal use and then bust out the good seeds once I have a good grasp around the neck on shit im doin..
