Diphenhydramine can be taken recreationally.. it's rather weird, and a lot of people have some pretty freaky trips (just a heads up).
As to it being dangerous, so long as tylenol nor aspirin are present I wouldn't be too concerned with that. The only thing I find annoying, high dosages of diphenhydramine may leave floaters in your vision for quite some time! On really high dosages you may have nausea or puke.. but like I said I don't think anything that one really needs to be concerned about.

That whole thing about acetaminophen hurting your liver I guess can be true but remember all those other things such as naproxen sodium, etc. is just as bad for your kidneys. They all have their ups and downs so don't be fooled into thinking ANY prescription drug OR over the counter drug is going to be okay. It sucks to have to get an organ transplant - it doesn't matter if it's a kidney transplant or a liver transplant - you'll be stuck having to take some immunosuppresants for the rest of your life.
I wouldn't toy with it if I were you.

Oh, another thing. . . remember that Benadryl is used to supress the body's reaction to things that it is allergic to. If you use it too much and on a regular basis the body becomes immune to it's reaction supression benefits. If you have allergies to something after having played with this a bunch, don't expect it to help when you REALLY need it. You'll just have to live through the allergic reactions.

i've taken pretty massive doses and all I ever got was sleepy or knocked out.

You must fight. How many did you take and at what mgper pill?
I'll go into more detail later, but it was pretty crazy. I took it at like 7, and I decided to walk around my neighborehood, and at about 8 I started feeling real tired and I couldnt walk straight. At first I just felt really weird with no hallucinations, but after about 2 hours I started seeing some weird shit that freaked me out and I ended up going to sleep.

I took between 25 and 32 pills several times. don't remember for sure but they were 25 or 50 mg pills.
I didn't know triping on them was even possible. I just wanted to pass out.
