Bending over plants

Hi guys, I would like to know if anybody can shed some light on the subject of bending over your plants when its about 40 cm so that it actually grows vertically. My mates say it won't do anything bad to harvest only that it will increase the yield. And ofcourse it is better for planters because then it is easier to hide your plant... Does anybody have any experience with it any info will be great!

I personally cut a couple pieces of string and put a loop in 1 end of each and then tie a couple big steel washers or nuts on the other end and hang them on the branches I want to bend down. It works great for me and I add or remove weight as needed and the position you hang it on the branch changes the bend also. It works nice to give the plant light in areas it would not normally get to and promotes more bud site and yield.

Wow that washer idea is genius. gonna have to try it considering some kind of critter dashed over all my strings that i had tied to an oak branch and topped my plant :(

Put a cage around it and when an branch gets long enough its guided thru the holes and tied to the cage, this encourages growth off many more branches and is the way im doing it now and looking great. Outdoor would be stronger steel and cable ties. More than double your harvest, i found this pic as eg on the net to give you the idea.--, you need 1000w verticals indoor.

I've bent plants over that were getting too high. It's fine. About to do it in a few days actually. Usually until they are parallel with the ground. After a few days they start turning back up again. I did it in mid flowering once and had an "L" shaped cola in the end.

I used to have to bend over my plants to inspect them but now they are tall enough that I cansee them clearly at eye level.

I use plant wire and make a hook shape so that the plant can be freed in a violent storm or if get caught in it (it's a jungle in there!).

bending, or LST (low stress training) can make a plant produce more colas - every time you bend a main branch sideways, it will release a growth hormone telling the plant to grow upward again and your side branches become new tops! this works the same as 'topping' only topping kills the main cola.. i have seen plants trained this way producing dozens of top colas instead of 1 - 5.. you can keep them low and very dense this way..
