Best led for 2x4

I am planning on getting a new light, it’s been a couple of years since I have thought about getting a new one. I want the most cost effective led(bang for buck) that is reliable and preferably doesn’t give off too much heat at all. I have been looking at some of the mars hydro or spider farmer leds that look more like connected rods than a singular pad that has a bunch of lights on it. Not these in the photo in particular, and I would be willing to pay the money if the light is really worth it. Everything else is dialed now, and I’m ready to get a truly nice light.

VIPARSPECTRA 2024 XS2500 Pro LED Grow Light with New-gen Lens, Dimming Daisy Chain Full Spectrum Grow Lights for Indoor Plants Veg/Bloom Growing Lamps for 2x4 Grow Tent Actual Power 250Watt https://a.co/d/9Qhq6bC

This bad boy. I have 2 of these on one side of a 4x8. I need to dim them down to %40 at 22" or else they are too intense during flower. Buds are noticeably more resinous on that side of the tent

I highly recommend an HLG 320XL r-spec. Perfect for your rectangular space.
I run it and another HLG 150 in my 2.5’ x 6’ closet and have pulled at least a lb of almost all tops (dried and tightly manicured) 3 runs in a row.
I have friends that have used other lights and they never end up with comparable yields or quality. IMG_8315.jpeg

Finishing my first run with a Spider Farmer G4500. Really liking this light. I was barely over 50% in flower. Great light so far.

Put the actual size of the lights into your thoughts I reckon
If the spider farmer is say 0.9 in size the viparspectra same segment in 1.15
If your in a 4x4 tent and net in it ..thats the outside square the drop off light is happening on

I think the Viparspectra XS2500 is a serious contender at $199. It's two xs1500s boards powered by one driver.

Here's Migrow's review of the xs1500.

BTW, the best light and the most cost effective light are two very different things. ;)

It's actually a better value at the moment, the xs2500 is $200 and the xs1500 is $100.
+1 on two units make sure you have the power you need.
Vipar is a bit lacking in red for flower imo but from our latest grow even our plain white trays do well. But with less great quality on some cuts.

What’s the general consensus? 2xs1500 or one xs2500? The HLG 300 r spec sounds nice! I’m willing to spend up to $500 if it’s efficient with energy, puts out good light for veg and flower, and is good on not getting hot

A lot of knowledgeable people use the HLG lights. I have read nothing but praise for them. If you have the funds HLG makes excellent lights.
I personally have two Viparspectra XS1500's in my 3 x 3, the original and the newer version. You can pick them up on amazon for 80 or 90 dollars depending on what sale they are running. They do run a little hot.
I run them at 75% to keep the heat down and that is plenty of light for some excellent flowers.
I think you can get more even light distribution with 2 lights.

2 Viparspectra XS1500s or 2 XS1500 Pros. All depends if you want wider coverage or deeper coverage. ATM the Pro is about $85 on Amazon and the XS1500 is about $109. The Pro uses 281B leds/Sosin driver and the XS1500 uses 301s/Meanwell driver.
XS1500 Pro provides a bit wider coverage due to lens covers on the leds.

XS1500

You can also get the P1000s for about $70 each with 301H leds and Meanwell driver. 3 of these would rock a 2x4 tent and with one of the newest Samsung LEDs.

Very happy with my XS1500 and P1000.
