Best light schedule for seedling thru veg?

So its been three days since they popped thru and I was wondering what peoples opinions are on the light schedule for the seedling and vegetative stages are? I was planning on 24 hrs during the seedling stage then switch to 18/6 during vegetative. What about 24/0 till flowering? Anyone doing this? Should I have the light on 18/6 from seedling to flower? Just wondering what's the best way. I only have two autoflower grows of experience and I had my light on a 20/4 schedule for those. Thanks for any info and opinions on this!

Roots grow fastest at night and more light provides more energy. You give vegging plants a dark period when you want more root growth and no dark period to keep pot size down & supply vegetative growth with more energy.

Just wondering if I should be on 24/0 during seedling stage or already on 18/6?

Seedlings clones..... 16-18 light.
Veg.... 18 light.
You will hear some growers saying that they run 24/0 for veg. The only thing this does is increase your electric bill. There is NO evidence to show that a plants grows anymore given 24 hrs over 18hrs....AT ALL, ANYWHERE.
There is also debate as to whether using 24/0 actually light stresses the plant. ( I'm inclinde to
agree)

I run my seedlings 24-0 first week, then 16-18 through veg. I do this because females r suppose to be more prevelant with light hrs of 16 rather then 18 but I don't want to give up that much light time and I think a little variation is okay at this stage & more natural. After the first week, I believe a lights out period is necessary for rest & growth & studies have shown that a 24-0 schedule does little to change the overall production or maximum yield any one strain is genetically going to produce with 18 hrs of light.

There's no major problems running your lights on a 24/0 schedule, and 18/6 is fine too. However, the only serious experiment that I know of showed that 20/4 was the best overall veg schedule, in terms of final yield.

EDIT: here is the result

We did a lot of experiments with light times a few years back using known sat and sat dom clone lines.

With Vegging ie under hid lights.

20/4 produced the most sturdy growth and the most bulk. Best final yield, taken as 100%.
22/2 Less of both. yield 88%
18/6 Studier than 22/2 but slightly less bulk. yield 87%
24/0 Much lighter in all aspects than 18/6. Yield 79%
16/8 The weediest plants. yield 67%
