i was wondering does anyone hear have and opinon on which bulb is the best, i was thinking of getting an 400w AGROSUN GOLD bulb. i know HPS conversions are the best but i am just looking for a bulb i can use for both. Anyone with personal experience please help, your input would be greatly appreciated.

You can use MH..you can get a conversion set up that uses both..and you can flower with MH , but the tops will be more airy and not as dense as with HPS...

i thought i wanted a color temp around 2500-3k for flowering??? the agrosun gold is 3000k and has a bunch of red spectrum. and i thought you used 6500k for vegging, my phillips bulb is 4000k (all blue spectrum i think) and is destroying at vegging??? so which would be right for flowering?

use your mh lamp for veg cycle only, emits light mainly in the blue wavelength, for a proper dense crop use a hps bulb (red end of spectrum) a 600w hps at 3 feet above your plants emits 10,000 lumens at your plant tops (which is the minimum ideally) a 400w bulb will give you the same at 27 inch above your plants.
sylvania grow-lux bulbs offer an amount of blue light spectrum to complement the mainly red light as do some other manufacturers, check with your supplier.good luck.

higher the K the better for veg, thick fat leaves, bushy, compact, then when u flower hit that low K 2-3000
