best way to deal with mould on top of soil?

my plants are just started but i already see on the top of one getting a considerable amount of what looks to me like mould. a large "carpet fuzzy thing" spreading along the top. i was wondering what the best way to get rid of this is? weather it be a spray a solution or a transplant, i paid abit for these seeds so i would love to save em.

chances are that u dont have great drainage and the humidity is proly to high, i had the same problem with my 1st grow i used crappy soil... i ended up scraping it off and adding a layer of sand to the top of the soil, after that i didnt see any problems... what soil are you using?

put something on top of the soil.

rocks
sand
hay
etc...

the idea is to keep light from the moist soil.. if there is light and water you have life, just what bacteria needs to grow.

Well, mold is a fungus. It doesn't like direct light, but does require moisture. Have you tried 24/7 lighting? That'll usually kill mold.

That's why most mold on buds starts from the inside(shaded & moist) and grows outwards. Once you detect it... it's way too late.

I just use H2o2 when i water just a little bit about 4-5ml per gallon of water(thats like 1 cap thats on the bottle) the plants also love it because it helps the roots breathe and take in nutrients on top of that it will kill any bacteria and bugs for instance gnat larvae.if i do notice mold on top of soil i make a light mixture of H2o2 and water in a spray bottle spray top of soil and cover with new soil should be fine

thank you everyone. the soil i have is specially made from my hydro shop, he mixed it himself and said it should be fine. my humidity is 30% almost always, but my temp is abit high at 30*c(or about 85*f i think) and sometimes as hot as 33*c(about 92*f0 i am teryin to find away to lower my temp nowe as we speak. my grow is in my room so i didt go 24/7 lighting cause it would keep me awake.as for the hydrogen can anyone else speak about that method? so basiclly just cover it? thats what i should do? no need to take out the soil that has it? or transplant?what a relief...i would love to hear some more thoughts or how people think of what was alreay said

Mould on top of soil is actually pretty common and not a big deal whatsoever. Just scrape the mould off the top, if it grows back do it again. Pending on how much mould spores in the soil will determine how many times u have to rescrape. If u do it more than 4 or 5 times and it still comes back, transplant into fresh soil..

H2o2 if used in small concentrations works perfect for me its exactly what it says it is hydrogen and oxygen try it u will love the results u wont kill ur plants unless u over do it just like with anything else remember a little goes a long way

I dont like to see mold because it can spread with ur ventilation as the spores will fly and get into ur buds not a good thing...sometimes the white stuff on top of the soil is salt look closely and make sure

wow, and here i thought mould was gonna ruin my whole grow. here is what i am gonna do, use SMALL amopunt of h2o2, then remove the mould then put new stuff on top, does this sound good to everyone?
