There's one alternative... I've just tried it on a sample from my last harvest. I don't think I'd do this every time, but it has it's pros/cons. Water curing. You submerge the plant in water, and change the water every 12hrs at first, eventually every 24hrs....for 4-7 days, or until the water is completely clear. Then dry it out, only takes 24-48hrs, and jar it up.
I will say this, it definitely changes the look of the bud compared to traditional air curing. My sample seems to be darker than traditionally cured bud. It's just as mellow if not smoother, and the scent is more nuanced. Potency is exactly the same.
