Are you looking for quality or quantity? Big bud is a great strain for the commercial grower, but the quality leaves a bit to be desired.

Quality , i know it makes a shit load of bud, thats why i would prefer it to be quality + it seems to be really easy to grow.

It's a resilient bitch that's for sure. But I recommend getting a cross breed of this for a better high. Big Bud always has a tendency to put me to sleep.

I'm growing it right now....60+ days from sprout, and 30+ days flower - take a look at my pics posted.....I am very happy with the result so far....no previous experience with this. heard bigbud is a foundation breeder for a number of other excellent strains, but again not personal experience...just reading....I choose bigbud because of the speed and yield.....and ease to grow......I am thrilled with the result....though I am now more informed on other strains as well, and will likely do something else....guess I better savemy final opinion until I have fully grown, harvested, and cured the curent one....maybve I will be pleasantly surprised?

Tahoe's doing it - stepping up to the plate....we're ready.....

the otehr one I chose was top44......supposed to finish in 44days flower.....I just passed that point and I certainly have weeks left.....(the 44d finish is understandably stated as under optimal conditions).....I have heard northern lights is a good choice.....there's a lot of hubbub around madel's satori......the various strains eally seem to be a personal choice....I have one paper that lists over 900+ strains with each one's parentage....its overwhelming!

900 strains, sweet.
Well i have a WW growing up it went yellow at one point, and the growth slowd down allot but it was just a lack of nuts it back in business now,

yea i have smoked northen a couple of times and it certainly is not bad and the taste is good and smooth at the same time ( this is my opinion )

If you are looking for quality Northern Lights is a good one and pretty easy to grow I hear. It also depends on the size of your grow area. A really easy strain to grow is the Lowryder strains. They don't have a veg. time they go straight to flower. I have heard of a few people taking 10 weeks from seed. It is also a pretty small plant. Shouldnt get more than 24" high.

Yea i have heard of the size of low rider, since i am a closet grower it would be good for that.:hump:

I'm growing Big Bud too; I have two females in their last two weeks of flowering. NL isn't just "good"; it's about the best there is (just for the record). I'm planning on drying and curing my bud very carefully, not rushing it. I'll report back on how good it is. For now, it's got huge colas and tons of bud, very sticky. It's outdoing my blueberry crop by at least 300% as far as yield goes.

bb is known to be a low yielder anyways, so id say thats to be expected.

I grew Big Bud. It finishes in around 60 days and yields well. But I also have Heavy Duty Fruity. It tastes better and yields better than big bud while finishing in the same time and being very similar otherwise. Its a great commercial plant and tasty enough to enjoy.

where did you get the genes from?

Got clones from another grower for big bud and grew heavy duty from seed. I don't remember the seed company. Good seeds are fairly easy to get here(canada). THere are about 4 shops that import and sell them. We have some local breeders too. But everyone just grows M39 anyway.

i mean where can i look at/order some heavy duty fruity from? got a website?

and whats the beef with m39 that makes it such a hot fuss in the area?

It did a little computer search. TH seeds seems to have it-sounds like what I have, probably where the seeds came from.
M39 is bland weed, but finishes in 42 days, doesn't smell much, yields amazingly(I have seen 1 and a half pounds per light in soil), resistant to vermin and disease.
My beef is that it is not all that tasty and EVERYONE grows it here.
Do people grow m39 elsewhere?
