Nice find. That looks like the same thing…. I don’t see that it was diagnosed tho? I have no idea BTW but when something is protruding like that it def needs to be solved. Not normal.It looks like someone else had a similar issue a decade or so ago but not the dying off issue.

^^Agree with this, if you have more than one cut you may want to do it now and not wait for it to die..If it does die I'd cut open the stem to look for bugs just to check. Have you done a good scan with a microscope or jeweler's loupe?
Guttation happens on leaves not along the stem and it doesnt results in dying apical growth. I experience guttation all the time where im at because of high humidity. Could be the concentration of IBA in the stim root#2 is too high, IBA is toxic in higher concentrations.
