This is my first grow so I'm just working with what I got cause I'm kind of on a budget. I have a fan, 3 CFLs up (have more just have to get a fixture) and 4 18" sunlight flos. I know flos really aren't worth crap but its just some lights i had around the house. I'm growing one plant as of right now which is about 1 1/2 weeks right now. It looks to be in good condition, but I'm new to this so I figured I would start a journal to take suggestions from people who have prior experience. Well here is where it's at right now.

How far are the CFLs from the plant? you really dont need the flos, theyre just adding unneccary heat.

I agree with broken the CFLs are much more effective, and if your only gonna grow one plant 3 is more than enough light output.
Is there any reason why your only growing one plant? There is a 50/50 chance it will be male....I would suggest maybe 2 or 3 more plants if you can, but if you wanna experiment this is the place to learn.
As asked how close are the lights to the plants top? Do you have them one 24/7 18/6 20/4 How often do you water? What kind of soil is it? What is the temp in the room? And what are you using for ventilation? These are important basics we need to know to help you our bro.
If you can post more pics, lets get an zoomed out pic, showing the plant environment?

welcome blowinbig,,I've grown a couple times already,,and am doing a cfl grow as well,,you can check FAQ's for help,,or just browse the sight,,you will learn lots,,here is my grow journal https://www.rollitup.org/grow-journals/40812-garden-even.html if you want to check it out for ideas or what not,,but please don't choke and die when you see it,,there is quite a difference in your 1 and a half weeker and mine,,don't be discouraged and try to learn what you can fast,,cuz you already got a plant to care for

I took the lights away to take the pics...but the lights are kept 1" away one on top two on the sides...and then the flos are just all around it really close.
I'm only growing one right now cause its my first grow..i'm just experimenting i didn't want to go big on the first time....I have an aerogarden too that i'm experiementing with but who knows whats gonna happen..The lights on my soil plant are 24/7 right now. I water every other day. The plant is in some good potting soil(don't remember the name) that said it was good for the roots. The temp stays around 60-70 F. Its got plenty of ventilation where its at. I'll get some more pics later today. thanks for the concern.
THanks hole....yeah i've been going through this site for about 2 or 3 weeks lookin up all this stuff...its really fascinating all the stuff there is to know

i could be totally wrong,,but maybe it's taking a long time for the roots to fill out being in a large container,,so all energy is working down instead of up,,maybe try a seed in something smaller next time first,,transplant to larger as it gets bigger,,mines huge at 12 days today,,in that container,,maybe the tap root is just crawling around all over,,like I said,,could be wrong,,at least it's alive

Looks good so far. Just keep the temps up alittle and keep the lights as close to the plant as possible.
