Blue Lab PH pens are not good

If you’re looking for a fantastic pH pen then I’d recommend a Bluelab pH pen. They require care and maintenance but do a great job when you take care of them.

Bluelab customer service is awesome, they replaced my PH pen that I bought off ebay, even though it wasnt from a authorized dealer. I did have to mail it to them though.
 
My first bluelab is 3 years old still works however they recommend to replace them after 18 months. Tested it against the new one and was only out by 2 points but was taking ages to settle the new one is as sharp as a tack. Get the maintenance kit and some calibration fluid, clean and calibrate every month also have a fresh glass of water to rinse after use, you can't beat bluelab.
 
Certainly not, they are bullshit. I use General Hydroponics Drops in a 5ml pipette. At this point though with RO water I can add just enough potassium silicate and nutrients where it always hits 5.8 veg 6.0 flower in coco/perlite. Write down your measurements and then you can not rely on a ph pen but instead your own formulas, obviously usually only effective with RO filtered water unless you have a very stable tap.

In Coco with chemical fertilizer I shoot for a slightly dehydrated piss orange in veg or feint orange/yellow in flower. 5.8~6.0 range is great to stand in, in late bloom lots of bloom stimulants will be acidic so you want to make sure you do not run your input feed too low of pH as it will drop quite quickly once in the rootzone.

Unless your pH is wildly off the charts the plants usually don't give a shit man. Sometimes adding too much pH Down/Up causes more issues than if you just left it alone.

You got lucky their "pens" suck my grow shop doesn't even sell them anymore they sell ones that you can swap the tip out and it is on the spot out of the box for pH & EC/PPMx700. I just use the bluelab truncheon and drops.. Pens are too high maintenance for $50 I can have enough pH dropper kits for a year and its never not accurate or batteries died or gotta calibrate and buy solutions n shit.
 
I don’t really even check or adjust ph anymore using Jacks 321 as stock solutions.
500ml each of part A and B = ~1.5ec = 6.1-6.3ph. I get my rez mixed in less time than it takes to fill it up with water
 
I have had nothing but good luck with blulab. I have a ph and ppm pen and their doser. Their customer service was above and beyond most.
