Brown spots on my seedlings ?

Hey these brown spots have been growing and im starting to get concerned.

these seedlings are about 2 weeks old,
i watered them 2 days ago
they are in hempy buckets top is soil and perlite and bottom just perlite.
19/5 schedule.
they also look quite wilted.
havent put any nutes, but soil is obviously fertilized.


please let me know what else you need to help diagnose this. thanks

Also here is a pic of the overall grow, im currently using 110watts for them and was wondering if it was time to put an extra 55W T5 to make it 165W ? or is it fine for now ?

the brown pots left and right and also hempy and transplanted about a week and a half before these guys, and they seem to like the soil.
They are in there with their rockwool cube, could that have been the problem ?

I think your soil sucks (at least for seedlings). Seedlings don't need much of anything to start healthy.

Looks like the soil is too hot for your babies or they just don't like it. Try making your own soil for their transplant. I would add some perlite (to the whole mix, 50-50 even with that soil) or something to help with air flow and drainage, looks a bit dark. But as far as what you can do today or next watering, I would flush that soil a bit and see if that helps. Also keep an eye on PH of the water, the soil ph, and make sure there is always some run off and it is PH aswell. Good luck man!

Hey what do you mean by too hot ? temperature hot or something else too many ferts? lol.
There is perlite in the soil layer (about 40% perlite).
Thanks, ill try flushing the soil next water.
I havent checked ph in a while, thanks for reminding me. ill give you the results when i check.

You shouldn't be using clear cups as pots. The light can damage the roots. You would be better off with red solo cups or something that isn't clear. As for the brown spots could be a deficiency but could be the soil. You can pickup a bag of doctor earth potting soil at most home depots its Organic soil and worked for my seedlings.

Too young to tell really but they don't like the soil haha. Most decent soils should get you through a few weeks of veg with no added nutes, therefore no def really. That one dudes right on with not using clear plastic or glass because they will damage root development. Try the flush though maybe there is too many nutes and they are burning or its not enough because the soil is just dirt but really they shouldn't need too much until they get a few nodes. these guys are lookin worse and worse.. I just flushed them out a bit. the leaves felt a bit dry as well. hopefully it makea things better.

As you mentioned, you still have the rockwool cubes on your root system. That is in my opinion the problem. The ph of rockwool is way out of line for pot plants normally, and until your roots escape the rockwool and start to get going, there will be issues, like dry, curling and yellowing leafs. One way to combat that issue is to soak the rockwool for 8 hours in a mild nute solution, at a ph of 5.4 (it will self adjust to around 6.0) before you use it You want to make the rockwool as close to a soil like medium as possible, as it doesn't hold nutes. I always feed from the beginning using rockwool, with a milder solution of what I plan to use. I even add calmag at that stage. Make sure you ph your water to 5.8 - 6.0 if you are using rockwool in starter cubes until a good amount of roots emerge, then go to 6.2 - 6.3 with a nute solution of around 650 ppm. Also tone down the perlite, as it also holds no nutes, and a mixture of 75% soil to 25% perlite is fine. So, start to feed now, do not over water and you should start to see results in a week. Good luck

Hey the roots are actually way out of the rockwoll and all the way to the bottom of the cups, so idk. also my ph is high 6, and I dont know how to lower it, i havent found any shops around that sell ph adjusting solutions. I was thinking of using drops of lemon juice dissolved in liter bottles of water to adjust it but not sure if that if good or bad.

Guess I'm wrong about your soil ph, 6.8 is fine.
