Bubblicious Feminized Auto Flower Closet grow!

INTRO:
I am a total newbie when it comes to growing, but don't let that fool you. I have done TONS of research and now I will attempt to put it into play! The plan is to grow and harvest just enough for me and some of the friends to enjoy. No big time operation going on here!


Strain: Bubblicious Fem Auto flowering
Source: Nirvana Seeds
Method: DWC Hydro
Nutes: All Fox Farm liquid nutrients: Big Bloom, Grow Big Hydro, and Tiger bloom.
Light: 18hrs on / 6hrs off
Light Type: CFLs
CONTAINER: PC GROW BOX (STEALTH)

PLANTED SEED IN ROCKWOOL ON OCTOBER 3, 2010

progress so far:

10/3/10 - Seedlings were planted into the rockwool after only 27hrs of germination. Rockwool was watered with Ozarka reverse osmosis distilled water. Rockwool cubes were placed into clear plastic containers and covered loosely with clear plastic wrap. No lights were introduced during this step.

10/4/10 - Seedlings started to show sign of growth. One plant fully emerged from the rockwool and the other just started to. The plastic covers were taken off of the containers and the lights were turned on for the first time. 18 hours on and 6 hours off. The rockwool cubes were being lightly watered about twice per day.




10/5/10 - Now that the seeds have started to show signs of life it was time to get the hydro part ready. (The roots had already made it to the bottom of the rockwool) The container was filled with the same water that I have been watering the rockwool with. Of course, the PH was tested came to 6 (ish) then a very small amount of fox farm (3/4tsp) was added to the water. 30 mins later the ph was tested and things were almost ready to go! The air pump with 2 air-stones was plugged in the the net pots were filled with 1 layer of hydroton then the rockwool on top. All the sides and some of top were also covered with hydroton. Things are starting to look up.

On a side note: I put the water level so it would cover the bottom layer of hydroton and sat just above the bottom of the rockwool.

ALSO - I am not sure what the brown spot on one of the leaves is. I think it is some part of the seed still sticking to it. I have tried to gently brush it off but no success. I am hoping that it will come off with time.






10/6/10 - Not a whole lot of action today. The plants have gotten a little taller, greener and look healthy. Tested PH again and all seems good. The temp stays at a constant 80(ish) degrees. One exciting thing is that the roots have doubled in length and now sit down in the water. The plan is to flush the nutrient solution every week and slowly increase the potency of it as the plant grows.

Today I also planted 2 blue mystic fem seeds into some soil. But that's another grow journal. haha.





UPDATE

10/8/2010 - So the ph of the water slowly started to climb today. I've heard that rockwool will do that. I put a fix to that and the plants are still making progress. A couple pics for ya!

Looking good, do I see 4 bulbs in there ? how many watts are you using for the grow ?

Yea it's 4 bulbs. They are 26w each. I think they compare the light equivalent to 100w incandescent bulbs. They seem to be working pretty good so far.

Looking pretty nice! I can't wait to see how it turns out. I've been thinking about using a pc box to grow in for a while but have never gotten around to it.

I'm curious... has anyone else smoked bubblicious? Smooth smoke? Fruity?

i'm growing a feminized auto bubble myself they explode with growth i'm on day 16 and its already working on its 4th node.

No but I've heard great things. I'll post some pics of her later but I have heard that auto bubbles have a difficult time to autoflower. Don't wait more than 4 weeks if you don't see any flowers or any preflowers by week 4 you don't have an auto and need to put the plant in 12/12 otherwise you'll end up like a lot of other folks who waited over 100 days have a 5 foot plant and no flowers. Then they come on complain get told to put it in 12/12 and literally 3 days later the plant has pistils like a mother fuck. but the plant will now double in size and pretty much touch the sky (literally) when finished. That's why most people cut down their auto's when they don't auto.

I'm watching mine closely. It smells dank and delicious but as of right now i don't see any preflowers and i take a scope to it every other day or so.

although i did order some snow white regular fem seeds so if this goes bust. I got a back up plan.

Oh and i'm also using CFL's Although i have 8 total 4 are the 26w Warm Spectrum and 4 are the 6500k daylight spectrum.

10/10/10 - The plants are really taking off! The one on the right esspecially. I have noticed a few little yellow spots on the top of the most healthy plant though. Anyone know what this is. Not PH, NOT nutes, NOT overwatering.?
overall VERY happy with the progress.

UPDATE:

10/11/10 - Growth of some more leaves has started to form. The roots are really taking off now. They are really starting to mesh out from the sides of the rockwool. Had to adjust the ph a little bit as well also raised the plants closer to the lights!





10/13/10 - Not a whole lot happening. Just some more leaf growth. Time for a nutrient change!

UPDATE

10/14/10 - no major changes again except this time i have a pic of the roots. Amazing how fast these things grow! The one on the right is the runt. Hopefully it will catch up eventually

looks great so far, keep us updated! what is your nute schedule like?

Right now its just once a week I put 2tsp per gallon of water (I use fox farm grow big hydro) and I use only 1 gallon of water in my container.

Starting next week I will up the nutrients to 2tsp of fox farm grow big hydro and 1tsp of fox farm big bloom liquid plant food.

The week after I will up it to 2tsp of each. Eventually when the flowering starts the grow big will be done and I will sub it with Tigerbloom along with the bloom big liquid plant food. That way the plant gets a wide spectrum of nutes.

Thats the plan anyways.

UPDATE!:

10/16/10 - just did a nutrient change last night and all is looking well! I do seem to be having a little issue with one of my plants. (the runt) The bottom 2 leaves are drooping, lighter and color, and are starting to get covered in brown splotches. I have check ph and its fine. The rest of the plant is doing fine just the bottom 2 leaves. Oddly enough the other plant (in the same container) is not having this issue. Any Ideas? Also I just upgraded the air pump and stone. I now have a 4" long stone in the middle and then a small round stone under each plant. So no matter how much roots they will always get air.

Let me know if you have any ideas!

Camera? Im using the Nikon d60... freakin love this thing.

10/25/10 - So the plants are drinking tons of water now... which has caused the plants to become "under oxygenated" because the air stones cant produce enough bubbles. Other than that one plant has continued to thrive with lots of new growth while the other one isn't doing great. the leaves are turning pale and spots are starting to appear. I have flushed the rockwool and everything to make sure its not buildup and the ph and everything is always perfect. The nutrients seem to be doing fine for the other plant so idk... i guess time will tell the fate of that plant. They are now to the point that if you put your nose up close you can smell the amazingness! PICS!

Hope the other one catches up!

Could you describe your set up a bit more please? It looks amazing and super stealthy but I have no idea about..

-How big is the container, and how much gallons of water does it hold
-net pot size
-CFL wattage and lumen count?
