Buds aren’t getting bigger but lots of trichomes

So my friend gave me an auto flower seed and it is currently in the flowering stage approx week 4. I never took it seriously and gave it regular soil and cow manure fertilizer from what I had in the garden. But as winter came I felt bad and began taking care of it. I purchased a ts Mars hydro light 1000 watt approx however I had a cheaper light before that. and the trio mix general hydroponics +calmag, (I had not gotten around to purchase a tent yet). For my first time/lack of attention I’m not disappointed in the current situation however, lately I’m seeing a lot of trichomes and a lot of the pistils seem to be turning orange but my buds don’t seem to be getting bigger. I’m wondering if they will get bigger before harvest and if not how can I improve this mistake as I have personally fell in love with this new hobby

How long is it away from harvest? I want to begin new seeds and take care of them properly.

Buds will get bigger, later. You also have a sativa dominant plant so flowering will take a bit longer. Be patient, she looks good.
You can't make seeds without a male plant or pollen.

Thanks that’s good to hear and yeah I heard sativas take longer. do you recommend 10/14 or 11/13 to speed things up or should I just leave it as to not affect the quality or stress it

Stay with the tried and true 12/12. You don't want a plant to finish early, you want her to maintain her natural grow profile as best you can

So you say its an autoflower? If so why are you on 12/12 light schedule.

Put it on a 18 lights on / 6 off for abouts 6 or So more weeks. And she will bulk up. Only photo period plants need 12/12 to bud out.

didn’t know that prior but wouldn’t just switching from 12-12 to 18-6 at the current stage cause stressors for the plant?

not if its an auto flower, what light is it under? also whats the strain? someone said its sativa but that nonsense no way to know that without knowing what strain the seed is

If you’re lucky it will double in size from what it is now. As with anything in life i tell people plan ahead. It’s a shame this auto was an after thought

I have a Mars 400watt currently and don’t wanna invest more untill I see results. To be honest I don’t even think he knew the strain when he gave it to me haha! I switched the schedule to 18 on 6 off so I’m gonna keep a close eye on it and see what happens

If it doubles in size from what’s it’s at currently it’ll end up outgrowing my house in height. I should have trained it!! If only I knew ☹
