Bugs!!!!! please HELP

i just went to water my plant today and noticed that there was a lil white dot screwin around the dirt of my plant?!?!
my heart sunk indepth further analysis there are tons living in the soil none seem to be on my plant YET! they are very tini and they were hopping around when i watered the plant.
please help with a type of bug or way to get rid of them fast

I've had these. A simple yet very effective cure is to add an inch of sand to the tops of the pots. I would also not water the plant for a little while to ensure the bugs die quickly.

Do not compact the soil, this will cause trouble delivering oxygen to the roots of the plant, which it needs desperately to survive.

I promise you, and inch of soil will solve the problem - your plant does not need any toxic chemicals or sprays to solve such a simple problem.

if they are anything like fungus gnats their larvae live in the soil and can eat roots.
compacting the soil is not a good idea as it prevents proper draining. i would start with garden safe 3 its a 3 in 1 kills fungus mold and insects and is pretty safe to use on your plants .. if they fly get yellow sticky traps to catch adults and like growtech suggested adding a layer of sand can help stop them from reproducing

awesome ty so much GT now what if at this moment i cant get sand cause its420 in the morning here? what is my time frame?
