So.....just lost 3 plants out of 4 in my bubble buckets Im posting this to just vent my frustrations as this is my first DWC grow and I have FAILED!!
Heres the story behind what I think happened, and I'm pretty sure they died due to heat. They looked fantastic for the first 3 weeks of flowering using GH flora series with Microbe Life Fruit and Vegetable yield enhancer. Im pretty sure it was the Microbe life was keeping my plants alive. My reasoning behind this is the temp outside started hitting the high 90's, I don't have A/C, and I couldn't keep the water temp below 80 but the plants were doing just fine. I have been using just an OZ of the Microbe life per bucket and I think the bacteria in the ML was acting as a buffer for the heat. So everything was going great until I ran low on the ML. I went down to my local hydro shop to order more, but after a week of waiting I called to complain and found out it was on back order.
Then I ran out of the Microbe Life.....so I had to watch them slowly die over the last week trying to figure out what to do....I have tried everything I could with my budget (im a broke ass). So over the last week I have been trying everything to lower the water temp down, frozen water bottles every hour on the hour, switched the lights to run at night so its cooler and i even put my air pump for the buckets in the freezer of my mini fridge with the lines running to the buckets. The microbe life just showed up this morning from my order but its way to late.....
I am planning on switching to a Rdwc next go around, do any of you who took time to read recommend any water chillers? maybe one that will do the job for a 4 bucket system and not cost an arm and a leg because I will have to start saving some cash... I would ask my local guys at the hydro shop, but they have been ripping people off lately and its the only shop in town....any commets, thoughts, or suggestions are welcome...
