Hello all, new member here looking to start making some bho.
what is the suggest butane to bud/trim ratio?
If i do ounce runs at a time, would you suggest i pack the whole ounce?
Or, maybe half that in a smaller tube with a full can blast?

And does anyone know how pure Newport butane is?
It seems most recommend Vector, but I've seen the leftover residue from spray tests
and would like to find the cleanest possible next to the stuff that doesn't come in a canister.

I plan on purchasing a presto griddle to heat up the extract and remove the excess butane.
Is vacuum purging still something i should consider?

what is the suggest butane to bud/trim ratio? i use about 2 cans per ounce, but it depends on when i stop seeing yellow
ill usually put my finger in the stream of butane to see if it gets sticky

i would still use the vector it the best high times had said something about colibri and vector

Is vacuum purging still something i should consider? yes the griddle is just one part of it that you will need along with a vacuum pump and vacuum chamber
but you can always whip it on the griddle on a glass plate

I personally do not like whipping, whipping breaks the terpenes down which is the flavor

The amount of butane depends on how much resin there is, and the number of cans depends on the size of the cans.

One 300ml can is usually more than enough for one ounce. You can tell somewhat by watching the stream color exiting the column, but tell exactly by feel or by evaporating some away on a surface to look for residue.

If you want full extraction, you will most likely have to empty and repack the column for a second run.

Newport is usually considered a good choice. I usually use Lucienne 4X, if I can't get instrument grade n-Butane.

You don't have to have vacuum purging, but it opens up some end product avenues not possible without it.
