Buying my lighting, ...wduthink?

So, Ive decided to go with dual 600watt MH and HPS lamps. Im trying to find the BEST deal, ..but while purchasing quality stuff. I want these lights to last.

Ive searched all over, and this is the best Ive come up with.

This online auction seller has a kit for $350 shipped, that consists of:

-Lumatek 600 watt digital balalst (strikes MH and HPS bulbs)
-120v cord
-Reflective ported hood w/ socket installed
-Plantmax 600w MH bulb
-Plantmax 600w HPS bulb

Do you guys think I can find a better deal out there?

Should I consider one of these "no name" ballasts and bulbs, and just piece together the rest of it?

I know I could save some money, but Im worried about the quality.

They are really good systems plus you get a 5 year warrenty.

i just bought a 600watt system from htg supply for $300 shipped with a digital greenhouse ballast , i think it is awsome for the money.hope this helps.

Id buy mine local,these digitals come with a lot of trouble for some of us.I bought mine from hydro wholesale and Im fucked.Dont buy lumiteck,3 out of 10 are fucked up and they dont run hortilux bulbs

DONT buy Lumatek??? Shit! I just bought the kit on ebay.

Are the 600watt kits w/ the digital greenhouse ballasts, from hts, any good?

I still need to buy another 600w kit. Should I just piece my next one together?

Im trying to save money. I have alot tied up in my grow room already, just building the room.

Quantum ballest are getting good reviews.Next generations are good bit fuck those lumitecks,you will see when your lights fuck up and kill your whole grow.I keep two extra ballest for emergencys

I use HTG's digital greenhouse ballasts. They run no problem, quiet, cheaper than lumatek.

from what i've researched it seems like the lumitek 600 ballasts give the most problems of their line. lot of good reviews on the 400w though, and i run 2 1000w lumiteks and havent had a problem yet.

Well this sucks. I got on here and was searching through different peoples set up, and I saw several using Lumateks ballast.

So, I figured they were the ones to get. Plus, theyre a little more expensive than some others. I thought that might mean that theyre good quality.

I still need another light set up, so I'll get the HTG next.

Anyone else have a bad experience with Lumatek?
