I would like to know if anybody would know how many apms a 250 watt hps/mh light system will use out of a 120 volt plug. i ask this because i dont know if i can hook up my 7 to 6 110v plugs in to one standard "110-120 volt outlet socket" any help would be great thanks!:bigjoint:

Each lamp will draw a bit under 2.3 amps each. On a standard 15a circuit the max you could have is 6 lights, with nothing else drawing power on that circuit including pumps, etc.
I would not try to plug all six into a single socket but use an outlet extender that is made to carry high loads. Maybe one that uses contacters or relays so that all the lamps can be controlled by one timer.

Electronic ballasts would also be the safest as they have soft-start technology where there isn't a jump in current draw when power is first applied to them like happens with some standard coil and core ballasts. Electronic ballasts are more energy efficient too so you will save money.
