Can I add soil to "stretching" seedlings?

I have some seedlings that have "stretched" a bit. Today I have added more light.

Would it hurt to add some soil on top of the existing soil so that the foliage is close to the soil line, to kind of get a fresh start? (see pic)

I know my tomatoes love this, but they tend to root out of stem if its covered with additional soil, I have no clue if MJ would do this.

Thanks for any feedback.

those roots will grow right out of the side if they are covered
get more light on it and cover the stretched stem until close to the foliage
this is done with mother plants to keep the height down

stem rot usually doesn't usually happen unless the stem it very wet so dont worry about that
i bury the stems up close with allmost all my grows

Okay I topped 'em off. They sure do look a lot more normal. Hopefully I gots enuff light now so the MFers wont stretch as much. I plan to do at least 2 more transplants before flowering so I will top em off then too.

Thanks again.
