if your tap water isn't really crappy, most people feed with tap water till it gets a couple sets of leaves, you then start with 1/4 dose or even less of nutrients and work your way up slowly. always start with less than what the bottle call's for and remember that tap water has plenty of nutrients in it. Some mediums tend to suck up nutrients so its a good idea to give a little extra, for instance coco coir you need extra cal-mag because the coco eats it up. as for promix i am not sure but i know you should pH it at 5.8

According to Pro-Mix the ph of the water doesn't matter in the least:

"Unlike true hydroponics, water pH is not important when using a soilless medium. In this case, the pH of the growing medium is the primary concern and is greatly influenced by the alkalinity (bicarbonates and carbonates) of the water, not the water pH. The only way to accurately determine the alkalinity (calcium carbonate levels) is to have the water analyzed by a reputable lab. The ideal alkalinity for most plant productions in soilless media is 80-150 ppm of calcium carbonate. If the alkalinity levels are above 250 ppm of calcium carbonate in the water, it may become necessary to inject acid to neutralize some of the calcium carbonate and to lower the water alkalinity to optimum levels."

I like to use ocean forest and not feed for 30 days other than bat or seabird guano. Auto flowers are tricky just let em grow

I’m growing both autos and photos in Promix BX and HP. Working good for me. Go light on the nutes for the autos and you may need to supplement with some cal mag as mentioned, it’s a soilless medium with very little amended nutrients.
