Yes you can but for that money you could get a propper hood with air cool in and outputs, HPS is HPS but keeping them cool is the secret and unless you can keep your temps down that hood will simply be no good since it not only points the light down but the heat also!... I dont know if you've had any experience with HID bulbs before but trust me they DO heat up hope this helps - STELTHY

Yeah, that's way too much to spend on a 400w.
