Can root rot cause bud rot?

Well yet again I'm a few weeks from finishing and the dreaded Botrytis has shown up for some reason.... It hasn't rained here in 5 weeks, I also run a 6" inline fan a half an hour, every 2hours, except in the morning it runs for 3 hours to dry up Morning Dew. I've been making sure to only water the soil so I'm puzzled as to why I'm getting rot! Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Sorry the pics of the rot aren't great. As always I chop the affected branches, but fuck man it'd be great to actually harvest some mature dense buds.

stem rot comes from the roots, bud rot comes from spores in the air.lots of folks have stem rot that will look like bud rot to the untrained eye.gotta look close!:bigjoint:once stem rot gets going no stopping it bud rot can be slowed if you stay on top of it.

But in order for bud rot to thrive, it needs moisture correct? It hasn't rained in over 5 weeks and I run an inline fan every other hour so how is the rot progressing?
