if you were to live off the grid, how would it be possible to do this if you have to purchase the land, because obviously SOMEONE wud know where you are. for instance if you were to stop paying ur taxes for the land the irs wud come and take your land. wtfffff

Everybody pays property taxes in this country..noway to get around it...but ya could put the property in a trust so public record would not show who owns the property.

i'm looking to live off grid too, but that doesnt mean i wont be paying taxes or not getting proper permits to build. if thats what your looking for, i dont think your gonna get past the tax thing in the states. the permits though, theirs still places that dont have building inspectors...peace

these things take time. buy land now, start building, by the time your ready to retire( dont no your age) you should have a good head start...my plans, anyway....peace

I imagine there are parts of Alaska Montana and Norther Michigan and New Mexico that you could build whatever ya want with no permits and probably never have to see a single person if ya chose to...but to survive off the land alone is tough living...check out a movie/documentry called "alone in the wilderness" this dude lived alone in Alaska for like 30 years...he was a genius and very hard worker..he made his own tools and built his own cabin..lived off the land alone and he builds quality stuff...he recorded himself with the old cameras and it is a great flik.

Isn't living off the grid ment to mean off the power grid? That's what I always thought.
