I haven't personally, but the 2700k is more like the light spectrum (redish orange) the "fall" sun puts out for flowering, and the 6500k puts out a summer sun light spectrum (blue)...But, I do use a mix for both 3 to 1 ratio, 3 6500k and 1 2700k for veg and the oposite for flower..hope this helps, good luck.

I stick with em all the way through flowering, no mix just 2700k.works great and doesn't appear to induce stretch ...only cons is the yellow light is warmer than the blue light

Nah they will be fine.. I don't know your light setup but switching out all my bulbs would nearly cost me an hps, I never really understood the whole light spectrum thing..when I grew outdoors in TX its too hot in the summer so I grew in only the fall/winter yellow light ant they loved it

I used only 400w MH (all I had at the time) for my first 2 grows, veg and flower. Since then I have tried using HPS thru both phases, and a mixed spectrum both phases. The 2 spectrum thing is supposed to more accurately replicate the seasonal sun (thereby increasing yield and bud density) but the girls certainly will not die or do poorly if you use only one spectrum. In fact, IF there was a difference in yield using both lights as opposed to one or the other, it would only be measured in grams in a relatively good sized grow!!
Almost all of the little "tweaks" you read here are just that...and will have little or no visual/discernible effect on the general well being of your plants. Don't obsess over all this. Your plants aren't gonna die, and will do just fine under a basic light set up as opposed to a more refined system as long as you use HID or floro in one of the proper spectrum's. Now try an incandescent or Mercury lamp and you'll have troubles.
Give a plant Miracle Gro and it will do well (used properly of course), but we can tweak the nutrient regimen and have them do better. Same with lighting.
I remember the first grow, I stressed out bad, because everything I read on the forums said to use MH for veg, and HPS for flower. I have no idea why the mind "loses it" and ignores science when it comes to MJ, but I was convinced that my girls were gonna die as soon as they tried to flower under MH. LOL!

Whew, I saw mg and thought you were gonna go elsewhere with that. I could be a miracle grow salesman lol I love that stuff as do my plants

yes you can use 2700k all the way thru. seen a very successful grower only use 65 watt 2700k bulb start to finish for a 1 x 1 x 2 1/2 ft space and had a really nice harvest twice. don't let anyone tell you it isnt possible, anything is possible

LOL! No worries. I aint an MG basher. I've seen WAY TOO many successful grows done with MG to do that. MG aint the prob, the directions on the product could be a bit more clearly defined as to usage tho.....Most folks will follow the directions (if they read 'em) with the "more is better" mindset. MG used at 1/4 strength and gradually increased to half strength will give great results in Cannabis. Personally, I don't use it, being an organic guy, but I never discourage it's use, especially to those here who are on a really tight budget. (Why do folks think they can do anything with no money involved?)

I use 2 42w CFLs (one of each spectrum), 24/7 ON for my seedlings and pre-veg. Then transitioned to MH (18/6), and HPS for flower. You certainly can go from start to finish, but the higher density lights will give you better performance, theres no disputing that. CFLs work great for forming a nice structure or for stages of growth requiring less intense lighting, but when flowering you`re looking for as many lumens as possible. CFL`s will only penetrate the tops of your canopy well, whereas the HID has much better penetration.

This should about clear it up for you, but as previously stated, this is also a matter of preference and resources available. Get some beans, going and get at er`anyway you choose!! :)
