As the question says, can you paint a grow tent with white spray paint? I'd prefer white to mylar and this question just crossed my mind because I have a silver mylar tent. Not sure if this is a dumb question or not, but would like to know.

Yessssss, very dumb question but the answer is obviously yes you can. Get paint, spray. Done. But this seems very ghetto and mylar is more reflective anyway so its like cutting off your finger cause you think its ugly. It WAS serving a purpose.

Lol I figured I'd get some hassle from the question :-? I guess I was curious if the paint would stick to mylar and not peel off from the heat of the light? I know that flat white paint is very close to reflection % as mylar, but it's a lot easier on the eyes also. It was just a stoner epiphany lol. I guess i just prefer white to mylar, but your right, it probably wouldn't be worth it o_O

^ like he said. Panda film is the way to go. It's 90% reflective.

If it is too tough on your eyes then this is probably because you are spending a pointlessly large amount of time looking at your grow. Maybe you should go CFL's as well, they're a lot easier on the eyes than HID lighting.

Lol @ can't beat it comment

Well, what I was getting at is there are white tents, I just got the silver tents because I wasn't thinking I guess. I would have preferred the white tent, but I've read they are pvc and off gas? At any rate, I'll probably leave it as it is, I just prefer white walls is all.

You do know it's like that for a reason right? This is a tent, not a bathroom, who gives a damn what colour it is so long as it does the job properly?

But 100% of the large commercial grows I've been to has not one shiny piece of anything? I don't think reflection of 10% +/- makes any difference on yield.. Imo

That is because most large commercial grows are well, large. In that size of room it is not of much benefit. A small tent greatly benefits. they make them for a reason. Not to mention in a large commercial grow you might be in the room for hours and hours at a time, and all that myalr could make things mighty disorientating. In a tent, if you are doing things right you don't need to be in there for but a few minutes.

Sounds to me like you are creating an issue where none really exists.
