Can you use a carbon filter/ Fan setup in a closet with no intake/out just to circulate and clean the air? I don't see why not, but just wanted to see if anyone has anything to say. i would also open the closet a few times a day just to get fresh air.

haha yeah bro only because its a small closet so i wouldn't be able to have an air intake. i've only grown inside once before with some cfls in the same closet but i grew northern lights which had almost no smell so it wasn't a problem. but i want to grow other strains now that i know will smell so i am going to use the carbon filter. that was just my question lol

yea i know they need air, i wish i could have good ventilation but like i said it isnt possible at the moment so my only option is to open it a few times a day for air. i got maybe an ounce or so last time off of about 125watts.

Yes you can run a fan/filter in a sealed room. Many many people do this and it works well.
Thanks for finally answering my question lol. i think the plants will do even better this time because last time there was no circulation in the room and they still did ok

Then you should consider adding CO2 if you don't have good ventilation.

Thought about making one just incase some un-pot-friendly visitors come over. The closet I use is in the far corner of the bedroom right before the main bathroom in the hall. I don't mind closing the closet and room door for a few hours to lower the smell some cause 99% of the time it's safe for me to jut leave the door open all day.

i have a carbon filter running in a closet with doors shut all time appart from when im admiring them was gonna add photo but not sure how to on reply
i have photos on a thread i don
i have a 400w hps cooltube connected to a carbon filter that then blows the air out of the closet through a circular whole i dont and doesent stink the place out
and i have a fan running too circulate air make sure you have a fan in there and not blowing on your plants
your closet wont be 100% air tight so the carbon filter will suck air in from somewhere thats how i see it anyway

I would suggest you don't and instead get passive intakes.
If the air is circulated within the room, it's just getting scrubbed by the filter. You need a constant stream of fresh air going in, replacing the air within the closet every 3 minutes as the filter does not supplement the air with O2 and CO2 - needed by the plant for photosynthesis.
I'm not saying it doesn't work - just that you wont be getting the best out of your closet by doing so.

Good luck!

I make my own DIY air filters and use them in my room to just cover the scent...room fans provide the circulation
