Hey there. I'm looking into applying for medicinal marijuana here in Canada. Before taking the application forms to my doctor and discussing it with her I wanna find out if it's even worth trying to apply or if I'll just get a big fat rejection during the application process. My reason for this is because Health Canada's requirement for their "other illness" is basically for the terminally ill. They have the option for severe arthritis and with me taking my current medications, which is prety much to treat severe arthritis, so wondering if maybe this could get me qualified.
Anyways heres my story, looking for some input on wether i'm just wasting my time or what. Thanks.
I broke my ankle while I was younger playing sports. I was told it was sprained and now have a "2nd ankle bone(the bump on the inside of the foot)" Went to my doctor and complained about the pain and the physical appearance. I got xrays done and was told there was a hairline fracture but it was most likely due to the fact I was a young teen and my bones were growing. I did this 2-3 times with this doctor for a period of 6 years and finally said enough is enough and found a new one. This new doctor MRI'd my ankle and boom found out it was broken originally and now two bones have fused together causing a tarsal coalition. I'm on daily dosages of Celebrex and Zytram XL. Which is currently not very effective especially at night when I'm consistently waking up from the pain causing horrible sleeping patterns and well... just chronic pain 24/7. I was told my next cocktail of drugs would be getting into opioids like percs. I'm extremely uncomfortable in using opioids for this. My surgery is scheduled in 2011. Basically I have a high chance I'm going to get hooked on PK's if I'm going to be on them for the next 2 years. It just sucks that's it's been 7 years since the initial injury(8 by fall '09) and I have to wait another 2 years for treatment even though my previous doctor failed numerously to diagnose the problem. Now I'm looking into MMJ to help especially at night for sleep, waking up to shooting pain really sucks and I don't wish this upon anyone.
