Cannabis cultivation literature.

Hi Roll it up'ers!

So I have been growing for a short while and I can honestly say that THIS is the best bloody hobby I have ever had. The information on different growing techniques, mediums, nutrients, science is seemingly endless. Especially on sites such as Roll it Up and generally the internet.

I have a question though... does anyone know any well written books about the science behind growing cannabis? I would be more interested in the "biology" branch if I may call it that, cell structure, the different stages of width and lateral growing, Calvins cycle etc.

I studied at school a branch of biology and I used to love reading about plants, their structure, how they uptake moisture, why they do it and bla bla bla, although it wasn't about CANNABIS in general hehe.

I'm not looking to read "typical" growing books. I find that on the internet there is more than enoguh information on methods, lights etc. but hardly any scientific back up.

I've heard he "Marijuana Botany An Advanced study..." by Robert Connel Clarke is excellent, although it's focuses more on breeding.

Cheers guys, I'm looking forward to your suggestions. :D

P.S. Maybe I'm just expecting too much and the best would be to combine the knowledge from my biology book to understand the "science" and top that off with eg. Cannabis Grow Bible or something similar to that.

I agree with you cannabis growing is the best hobby ever. Unfortunately, I haven't met books about growing before. In my opinion there is all you need at forums.

There are many good books but few can ever beat Cervantas for ease of use,
and is highly practicable comes in a wire folder type thing
so it can go from you bedside table to the plant pot with ease

to my blog on the 12 week grow is a fine example of this great book
this and Marijuana Botany by R Clarke
can't go wrong...!

This is a total fallacy ..using the web in most cases is the 'blind leading the blind'

is often the case at RIU and elsewhere, just take a look at the Noob forum

Being correctly educated either by a mentor or general reading(study) is still the best way to learn anything

...as this post and the reply only proves....welcome to RIU

You would probably get more out of the cannabis breeders bible. It has everything from marijuana botany plus more. Ken from trichomes technologies has a book coming out that will most likely be the new standard of cannabis books. If you want a text book style book Cannabis Evolution and Ethnobotony is really good. It has some amazing info not really a grow book though.
