Mixed with 2 batches. There in 5g smart pots and all are autos (first time running autos letting them do there thing while I veg my outdoor crop) except for the seedling. They get well water teas and rain water. What y'all think cal mag def, pdef, ph?
 
Maybe I'm just worrying too much but i still want opinions. I got 6 of these going at almost 4 weeks old and Tom there getting Alaska fish fert and big bloom unless someone has some advice to offer up
 
There we go thank you sir. Just water for a few days huh, would you add any molasses to that water kind?
As I stated this soil was made in two separate batches but what I did not say was I had my helper mix one. (im disabled so what can you do) And his batch is definantly hotter than mine. Good thing I still have a qtr bale of peat and some extra perlite, I can use that to fluff it up some for the next round of seedlings. If I need 2.
 
watch the what your feeding containing high P

it looks like you might have some minor iron def (yellow tops) which im guessing is from too much P

are you adding something with lots of phosphorus?
 
Did you let all those amendments "cook" for 6-8 weeks before you used the soil? That blood meal will burn your stuff up if you dont.

It had some time to cook. But the weather played a role in how effective that was. ( cold and rainy). I probably should have made space in the garage to store that and have it a Cook a few more weeks. The mix was made at the first of dec....

And satori yes there is a high p content from jobes organic bone meal (steamed bone meal 2-14-0). I think extra bone meal found it's way into one of the batches somehow. As for the bllod meal I use that for teas if I have any left after soil mixes.

They'll all get just h20 today.

id don't think your have much trouble rebounding

they still grow foward
 
sour D can often handle over feeding better than many strains

I think theyre greatly over fed

id just keep giving them only water

I wouldn't even give them calmag at the moment... there already over done on N and the calmag will just add more

also check to make sure your ph isn't on the lower end

N is highly available at low PH so if your ph is on the low end see about raising it a little

check the ph of the waste water from the bottom of the pot

when you water them water them heavy (not often) with lots of drainage

be careful not to water before the pots are light ... you may also be over watering or watering to frequently/too soon
 
Soil is probably a little hot.

You can probably back off the teas.

Mulch them. With organics you don't want the top few inches of soil drying too much.

I think they will be fine. One of the tricks to big autos is hot soil.
 
Thank you satori and ebb. I Will back off the teas for a while. I'm glad you mentioned mulching I was just on my way to reading up on that. However I did not know that autos liked hot soil I was thinking they liked less nutrients.

Its a fine line. High N will extend the veg time on autos. Too much will hurt them.
 
Ok. That makes since too me. Any extra veg and size in a auto should only serve to better the yield in the end I would think.

Do you see any problem mulching with dead oak leaves.
