CFL/Fero A51-90 Grow *Bagseed*

hey there everybody this will be my journal for my first ever grow i will be growing some bagseed from some reggie i had the medium is soil (fox farms ocean forest) and my lighting source will be 1x fero a51-90 that i purchased from area 51 lighting. the plants are currently in their 2nd week since sprout as of jan. 21 2013. I just got my light today so tomorrow will be their first day under the fero. I'll try to keep the journal updated on a weekly or semi weekly basis. Any advice/help along the way will be greatly appreciated.

The first one are at 2 weeks old, the second one is from a week old and the last is from today at 2 weeks 3 days old. I dont know how to rearrange photos on RIU because it posted the pics from smallest file size to biggest.

the one on top of the last pic is a week older than the rest.

Thank you Dawg. I've been observing your grows and might i say your doing one HELL of a job. A quick side note if anybody is interested in purchasing a A51-90 heres a voucher to save you some extra cash. It'll bring down the total from $395 to $325. PW5SADA55 You can also purchase the A51-120 for $400 and the A51-135 for $435 but you will have to contact Area 51 lighting for the vouchers.

Im New to leds..BUT IM SO TORN between Advanced, Area 51, and Black Dog..Im Looking at the Pricing and based on what im seeing u guys post I could get way more bang for my buck buying Area 51 Now..I was looking at the Black dog bd360 and the Bd micro, I would love to get the BD450 But as i look at this pricing I could get two a51 135s for the price of one Bd360....How many plants could i grow under 2 a51-135s? Also Would i be happy with the yield? Im Using 2 600s With digilux bulbs Now? PLEASE HELP..

Currently growing in a closet that is 45"x25"x5'6" (LxWxH) with a shelf at five and a half feet but can be removed for a max height of about 10 feet. The setup isn't much right now but i plan on getting some mylar, a humidifier, etc. in about a week or two once my pell grant comes in but I'll definitely post some pics once i have everything set up.

Hey Suns.. could you go into detail about the Voucher's of Area 51, how do those work?

Do we call and they add it to our account, then it shows up when we sign in? then automatically drops the price shown? Or do we need to proceed with the entire order on the phone..

I wouldn't have the best of advice considering im a noob but i have heard good things about all three companies. The main reason i purchased a light from area 51 was because of the lifetime warranty which is hard to come by in the led retail community but the others might offer similar warranties. As far as the production rate of 2 a51-135's your guess would be as good as mine. sorry i couldn't be of more help.

You can email them for the vouchers and they will send you a voucher code like the one aforementioned at the beginning of this thread and once you have the item in the cart just hit checkout and to the left of the total will be an area to enter vouchers and you just enter the voucher code and hit ok and watch that total go down lol. BUT when i went to the area 51 website to re-acclimate myself with the webpage i noticed that all lights are sold out except the a51-90 and the a51-600. Sorry.

First, do you think adding mylar to my setup would significantly increase bud/quality output or can i wait until next grow to purchase some? Secondly, do you think 10 weeks of flowering will be enough time for bagseed because i was hoping to have to some free smoke for 4/20? Lastly, does anyone have any suggestions for nutes? Im only looking to spend at most $40 on nutes. Sorry for the lack of updates I should have some up tomorrow around noon. Take care everybody.

What are you yielding with two 600w ??? most likely are NOT going to get the same #'s with any of those options....If I had to pick one, I'd go with the retailer that tells you the led manufacture & BIN # so=======AREA 51 until the others wise up

1 ?? yes adding reflective material will increase yield/ quality?? not that i know of....forget mylar paint your walls with this http://www.homedepot.com/h_d1/N-5yc1v/R-100670959/h_d2/ProductDisplay?catalogId=10053&langId=-1&keyword=behr+ultra+white+flat&storeId=10051&superSkuId=202897470#.UQmnlR071XE it's awesome(no hanging issues/cleans easy, Mylar is PITA), but any flat white paint will do....just tell them at the counter to add as much Titanium Dioxide they can and a fungicide to it.......My orca film is slightly (3-5%) brighter than this ^^paint at way higher cost.......

2?? have no idea, buy a loupe/lit microscope (8 bucks at radioshack) and check it yourself for the best results.......everyone has different clear/cloudy/amber ratios/prefernces and it's highly opinionated, pick what you like...

3?? I'm a KISS guy so here you go ....chemical ferts: http://www.hydroponic-research.com/ lol so easy has everything in it and is STRONG so it will last...can use it in hydro/cocco/soil==straight through veg& flower one product....bam

Organic SOIL/Cocco ferts: I personally like http://www.aurorainnovations.org/elemental-dry-nutrients.html their uprising line (foundation/bloom/ skip the grow and buy their Nitro-bat guano) Don't follow their recommendations and go triple the amounts as a topdressing (thanks Hyroot!!)....It takes a little to dial it in, but their ingredient list is good for the price(growers house.com)

http://www.espoma.com/p_consumer/tones_plant.html straight through veg-flower/cheap can buy 4lb bag at HD for less than ten bucks(spring selection), I've used it with great results and almost impossible to burn any plant with it......decent ingrdients/ beneficial bacteria added in!!!

Organic hydro ferts: IDK about running organic ferts in Hydro setups , sounds messy and smelly.......if you must any Fish emulsion product (alaska fish emulsion @ HD) will work but it is not 100% organic due to the heavy metals in it--franjan tried to ruin my love for this stuff) or root organic buddha grow and bloom......still think it's a waste to run organics in HYDRO....

Don't need to spend big $$ on ferts, spend the big $$$ on genetics......i do neither because i can't keep a mom and use clones.....so it's a shit show/ha

Alright you guys i got another question. I'm seeing new growth that i think are preflowers that are growing between the stipules and the new branch growth at the nodes but it has yet to sprout a hair so i was wondering if this was a male? This plant is further along than the rest it will be 5 weeks old this fri. and is at its 8th set of true leaves about to have its 9th.

Here are some updates as of today. The plants are 3 weeks 3 days old today. I will begin flowering next week on monday.

IT could be bruv if you take a cut and put it straight onto 12/12 you will see within a week or so whether she is male or female for sure but as you are putting them onto flower next week anyway then im talking a load of shit
need to read posts more carefully
