So im about to move to colorado where im going to get my card. I was wondering if 2 105 watt 6500k and 4 55 watt 2700k is overkill for 3 plants.

not overkill. arguably underkill

agree, one plant is what I would grow under that light, at most two small once/auto`s and I would for sure add more 2700K to the mix once come flowering

Not to sound repetitive mate but yes that will only serve useful for one plant sorry. I'm using and have used 210 watts before in a grow and it just took way to long in veg then even longer in flower to complete one plant at just under 5 months and a weigh in of just under 4 oz's dry. I've read quite a few post saying 100w per plant is good and that's where I started but 2 weeks into it wasn't happy at all so doubled up n went 210w and tho it grew a bit faster it still wasn't impressing me. I can't say it will be a slow process for everyone I'm just hopping that the plants genes were just "slow" hence the long grow time. Good luck tho mate.

Get a 600 watt hps or 1000 watt! You can get a whole package for around $250

If you're trying to only do three plants where heat/space is an issue I'd go with HO T5's. From what I've heard it's comparable to a 400w MH/HPS (depending on your bulb type and how many bulbs you're running).

I agree with ZOMBIES although if you are having any sort of expectation of yield from these lights will probably not suffice for flower, personally I would go HID all the way preferably 600W if you can (obviously 1000W would be best but I am assuming in your position this is not an option) but 400W will work as well for flower. you can get away with T5's and have a healthy good looking plants out of your vegetative cycle but coming into flower things might become problematic for you. the OH T5's will work but will not give you anything above a mediocre yield.
