First off hello ladies and Gentleman, I have a thread going with my current grow but wanted to show everyone and get some feedback on a new thing I am trying. I my plants are about two and a half weeks six inches tall. I have a cfl setup but wanted to make it better. So I got two big plastic tubs, flipped one on top of the other and lined it with mylar. I drilled in six holes on the sides to put cfls in. as well as a big hole for my fan, I have the exhaust fan at the top, seems to pull out the hot air that way. And keeps it cool because I fried my big plant on accident only leaving it in for 15 min without the fans on... Anyway if you want to see the grow go to my other thread. Look at the tube. so six inches from the bases of the plants I have four individual cfls spaced evenly around the base of the plant. About six inches above that I have two y sockets with cfls across from one another, then at the top i have two six inch shop lights with cfls pointed down. has anyone tried anything like this? Here are a few pics I wll get more up later.

haha took me a second, I was almost going to say you replied to the wrong thread, until I looked at the second picture, I am laughing so hard right now.

if you make it work, this is a good example of what to use CFL's for. nice set-up. hope it all works out for you.

In all seriousness I like your idea. I can't see it real well but I get the jist. Plus I think if you refined it a little it would make a stealthy little unit in say the garage or workshop areas. It's funny cause whenever I go shopping I look at everything as a tool for growing....I can't seem to stop.

thanks dude, I am going to get some clearer pictures. its pretty sic. I totally do that too, when I go to tool places too. Hey everyone I mentioned earlier that I burned one of my plants earlier today because I forgot to put the fan on in the tube o death. Well some of the bigger fan leaves got fried and arent going to come back, should I just chop em off? Will the plant survive?

Thanks dude, hopefully it works, about my burned plant anyone? anyone? Buehler, Buehler. I chopped the leaves, seemed like all the big ones were toasted. Is this going to kill her? She was super thick and dense with leaves on the stem and other branches. Will she make it? Shes recovering right now in the tube o death, with the fan on her.

any damage to the plant will have some effect. the more damage the more noticeable the effect. you should be ok. don't let it happen again. i'd keep the fan on 24 hours. :peace::joint::joint:

so one of my plants got burned so I trimmed all the burnt leaves off, check him out, doesnt she look kinda weird, both these plants were seeded at the same time, the burned one was way bigger until she got burned. Tube o death is working good though, the smaller of the two caught up to the big one in two days, they are pretty close to size now. Do you guys think I should take out the burned one at let it flower then just leave the other one by itself. Are they too small to flower? about 7 inches.
