I just read I think posted by infamous "ed R."
that keeping cfl's up to 8.5 inches away they will still grow vigorously, this goes against everything else I have read. But he is suppose to know what he's talking about.
I've seen a time lapse video where people let the stem stretch to the point where the plant hits the ground, but then picks itself back up again as time goes. (second post on http://weedmaps.tv/) ... I know with my seedlings I never let them stretch like that at all, they were very compact.
I've been keeping my cfl's REALLY close to the point of heat stress, my friend said with cfl's its worth it to keep as close as possible and pretty much impossible not to burn a leaf here and there.
So my question is, would it be better to keep the light around 5 inches away and would I get a bigger yield then if I were to keep the light really close, yet risk heat stressing the plant?
I'm using 125 watt cfl's ... 3 in total, so 375 watts... They are feliz bulbs I believe around 8000 lumens each. I'm starting to think I should keep them around 5 inches away from the plant at all times.
