Changing darkness amounts during flowering

If I was growing in flower and changed from 12 hours of light and dark to 8 hours light and 16 hours darkness can I change back to 12 12 I only changed lights because I thought I was moving and read it can slightly speed up maturing need help

I am almost certain that you can go from 8/16 to 12/12 without issue but to be safe I would wait for someone with more experience then me to confirm.
