I wonder how it would work out if I put my plants into 3 or 4 gallon buckets instead of 5 gallon buckets to save money. I'll be using soil. Any input would be appreciated.
Before I read a much better example by the great bricktop I usually used a gallon to foot ratio. Here's the deal with buckets, the plant will have the same mass below ground that it does above ground. Depending on how big you grow your plants is how big of a bucket you need.
I got 10, 11 litre buckets from a florist for 1 pound, about 2 bucks. You know the ones they have the cut flowers in? You just need to put drainage holes in the bottom.
