Cheapest diy water chiller?

What I'm thinking is run a water line from my reservoirs to a pump that pumps my water outside to a stainless steel wort chiller that is buried a couple feet underground. As long as no light is getting to the water is there any reason that wouldn't work? Stainless should hold up underground?

Wow i just learned something, i thought stainless steel didnt rust or corrode
You want to learn something else? All cold water in a res does is raise the level of oxygen available to the root system. Roots don't need cold water (warm is fine), what they need to thrive is good old oxygen, and a lot of it.. Air stone the shit out your bucket or res, done deal. Been there done that, and wasted a lot of cash on a chiller. Save the effort.

Uhm no.

Cold water reduces the likely hood of pathogens growing in your water.

Colder water does increase DO. Its not hard to maximize DO though. I get root issues with warm water and plenty of air. Same air and 64F water and im fine.

I've also been playing around a bit and stuck my air pump into this mini chiller and just put some ice packs inside...

My theory is that the cold air from the ice packs will be sucked into the reservoir... and the chiller acts as an insulation (that's what it's built for)...

So for nothing, but I might just add some more ice bottles, ice packs, ice etc.

Or my ex girlfriends heart, that bitch had a cold one.
