I reside in the SW region of this here UK and i am fortunate enough to know of a secure and safe patch of land that seems to be the perfect location for a potential flourish. Surrounding vegetation includes many nettles, brambles, hedgerows and small trees. There is a small stream/brook running through the plot of land for regular water access and drainage.

This will be my first growing campaign and i wish to share and ask for advice from fellow more advanced enthusiasts ;-)

In return i offer the promise of irregular updates on progress or there lack of, poor cameraman-ship, not thought out personal philosophical insights, impulsive communicative diarrhea, an innate love of the female form, and timely comical toilet humour.

So....

Iv done a bit of reading and research and think i know what i want. The excitement and sheer bafflement at why it has taken me this long to get the buzz about growing!! Damn it! :wall:
There only is now, right!?

So...

A small - medium plant....outdoor, hardy, able to deal with UK climate...something with a big hit and an either sativa/indica balancing will suit...i appreciate all forms and effects.

I will be able to visit there beauties at least 3-4 times a week. I would love any input of information helpful towards what strains seed i should become the proud surrogate parent to and whether i should go for auto-flowering or natural seeds giving the circumstances of the plants having daylight and sunlight the majority of the sunny days we experience here in SW, UK, EU, GAIA.

IF you have nothing to say regarding the above i would be equally appreciative of a raspberry or at least a piece of mild filthy language.

Wisdom - Man who drops watch down toilet have shitty time....

hi buddy, when in fall do you typically receive your first frosts? knowing that info will help with getting proper replies.

autos will certainly work for you but I have always found them lacking, so grab a few for that early smoke and lets figure out some reg season plants as well. that's where you will get the big rewards from outdoor efforts :)

Thank you sir for your reply ;-)

First frost typically ranges from mid/end Sept - early/mid Oct usually...(liberty cap season ssshhhhh (they're sleeping) :-P

I will certainly not restrict my crop to solely autos...there will be a couple of regs too, just for good measure.

Ok so you have a good supply of water and I assume you won't be putting down any seedlings till April or May?
i would suggest you propagate yer gals at home and plant them after the last frost.
you will probably need lime and I would suggest you amend the soil with sheep/cow poo unless it's already quite rich.
If it's boggy/sludgy and doesn't drain well some rocks or terracotta or pearlite will help, maybe a few bags of soil if you want.
Make sure you age the soil after you add poo 3/4 weeks or it may be too hot (rich).
other than that have fun'
a few snares and perhaps a spike trap for poachers are in order as they are worse than any creature that may have a nibble or trample yer gals. Watch raiders of the lost ark for ideas.
