Im trying to order a couple yards of soil and while they have several mixes available they all contain composted chicken shit.
Here is the mix im looking at
Pasted
A blend of aged, screened sawdust, dairy compost, Mt. St. Helens volcanic sand, compost, fir fines, peat moss, composted chicken manure, gypsum and iron. Great for vegetable gardens and flower beds. Drains well to keep root crops, like dahlias, bulbs, and carrots, healthy even with frequent watering. It can be used for seeds, turf topdressing, vegetable gardens and flower beds that like a higher pH and will be watered regularly. 7.0 pH.
I have to assume they added a safe amount and as long as I don't feed until later in the season this will work.
I would feel better about it though
If you looked at this mix and let me know.
They have other blends with ph of
6.3 or 7.4 Instead of the 7.0 above
