Hi i'm going o start a grow journal on here to see what you guys think and hopefully get some good tips to boost my harvest. Im trying a new thing by getting a grow tent to start its a Secret Jardin DR150. Its 5x5x6'7" and I will have three of these in a bedroom. One for mothers and clones, another for a vegetation room and finally a flower room. I have a 1000W HPS for the veg and one for the flowering room. I also have 400W MH for the Moms and flouros for the clones. So what I want to try, is to see if more plants with less veg time will get a greater yield than less plants with a longer veg time. I will be using House and Garden A&B nutrients along with bud blood, Bud XL, Roots Excel, Super Thrive, Bud Candy, MultiZyme for nutes in Coco Coir in 3 gallon smart pots with a top feed method. I have tried many different growing methods over the years and I feel the best smoke and plants come from some sort of "soilish" system and top feeding allows me to control each plants nutrients a bit better but I am always open for suggestions to make this easier. No CO2 yet but hopefully this grow I will get it.
In the mother tent I have 8 moms 2 of each strain which are about 3-4ft and bushy as hell. I clone 30 plants every week in an ez-clone machine then after a week in that I transfer to another aero system I made from rubbermaid containers and they sit for another week or until I see about 1-2 of growth. After the the plants are blowing roots I put them into 1 gallon pots in coco coir and they go into the veg chamber. I usually pick the best 15-20 to transfer.
Once inside the Veg tent the plants are about 12" tall and they are on 20-4 light schedule under a 1000W HPS. I usually have around 30-45 in the tent at different stages since I put new ones in every other week. I will veg them for two weeks or so until they are 24" tall and also top them twice to get 4 main colas.
Then they are transfered to the flowering chamber once they are 24" and put on to 12-12 with bud blood added to the nutrient mix which causes the plants to start to flower within the first 10DAYS!!!!! Its amazing stuff guys seriously check it out. The plants finish around 4ft tal or so and currently with 15 plants flowering for 50-60 days under 1 1000W HPS i am getting 1 1/2-2 pounds dried.
Im wondering if by doubling the number inside the flowering tent to 30 and cutting back veg time by two weeks and flowering at 15" or so would get me a higher yield or just more problems. Let me know what you guys think and I will start posting pics.
