I personally judge the color of the trichome head (clear/milky/amber) as that’s what we’re really harvesting. The stigma hairs will give you an idea, but they can also be misleading. I’ve had buds where all the “hairs” are turned and orange and started receding 3 weeks before the trichomes went from clear to milky. I’ve also had plants keep pushing out new white stigmas when the buds themselves were pretty ripe (caused by environment). Do yourself a favor and get yourself a jewelers loupe or handheld magnifying glass.
