What does everyone on here do for Christmas, do you stay at home or go to relatives, and what's your weather like at Christmas is it snowy or sunny? ;-)

There's usually around a foot or so of snow here when Xmas comes. We only celebrate Xmas for the gift giving and Santa, we leave the religious stuff out.

Lot's of family = Lot's of Big dinners. We all gather at my house, and we enjoy all the traditional foods and drink. Then we go to the misses family. I am usually baked out of my gourd there so I don't say anything that will set the in laws off. Afterwards, we have a huge party with our friends. There we plan New Years celebrations.
All in all, one of my favorite holidays.
And you?

We go to my folks house. Usually a 50/50 chance of snow. The wife's supposed to pop the 21st, so not sure if we're gonna make it this year.

Well all my family come to us on Christmas day, we open presents in the morning then all sit down to Christmas dinner, then the men of the family wash up ( I cook dinner ) then we walk the dog, after we watch tv eat loads of chocolate an I usually fall asleep in the chair The weather here is yes you've guessed it is usually raining. The odd occasion we get snow we go sledging in the country we live in a town, the country's better we love the snow so much so we spent one Christmas in Lapland just so it would feel more like Christmas, our children were actually teenagers and they said it was the best holiday they had ever had.

What a lovely Christmas present good luck with that I hope all goes well and you get what you want.x

Here in Canada, we all retreat into our own personal igloos, cook and eat dinner in there, then we go out to play hockey while the women cook bacon with maple syrup and poutine

something like that

Christmas eve is when we celebrate at the inlaws (they have always opened gifts on the eve of) so on Christmas day the kids are all here and we do the gift thing...

My wife and I passed on my family tradition that I always thought was our own.. turns out there are other people who have elves here too..

Once the Christmas tree is purchased.. there is an elf who lives in the tree and reports back to the fat man if the kids were good or not..

if they were good on Christmas eve the elf would hide an "elf gift" usually some sort of Pajamas or sleepware...

Nothing works better then blackmailing your kids.. by saying.. OK.. Thats it! the elf will report you!

Now that I am a awaiting my 1st grandchild I am sure my oldest will keep this tradition of blackmail going.

That sounds like our house was when my kids were little, only we used to tell them the fairies were watching them, and it worked just fine every time they were not doing as they were old we used to say theirs a fairy behind that picture on the wall watching you and if you don't be good she will tell father Christmas and you won't get any presents on Christmas day. We've got two grandchildren and our daughter says the same to them, you will really enjoy your grandchildren it's an amazing experience and mine say the funniest things they keep us young.
