I am a newbie grower with two harvests under my belt. I am growing in 4x4 trays using rocks and rockwool cubes under 1000's MH/HPS on a ebb and flow system. I have a 2-65 gallon resevoirs feeding 4- 4x4 trays.
I use 4" cubes and set them on top of the rocks and feed 8 times per day to just kiss the bottom of the cubes and drain back to the res. The major issue I am having is getting the rocks cleaned after harvest. I am using a small like keg tub that I drilled holes in to make it like a strainer and we fill it up with rocks and spray it with a hose and then put back in the tray. Is there any easier way to do this as with 8 trays and 3 bags of rocks per tray it's alot of work.
Is there maybe a better medium I could use to put the cubes on? I have been thinking of trying coco mat under maybe some 6" cubes. Any suggestions would be great.
