Clone Only Strains - Feminized Seeds?

Can feminized seeds be made by hermieing clones from strains that have no male and the strain is passed on only by clone - strains like Cheese, Strawberry Cough (origional strain clone only I've read?), and others?

I regularly read posts about how Cheese/OG Kush/SC from seeds are good strains but not nearly as good as the origional strain spread by clone. I've wondered why someone with a clone doesn't just make Fem seeds and sell the origional strain.
