Clones from flowering plants

Never mist clones. The more water clones absorb through their vegetation, the less likely they are to grow roots. Why grow roots on the bottom when the water comes from the top? If you have to mist to raise humidity, spray the lid of the cloning chamber. Most cloning areas are best warmed from the bottom. This keeps the root-growing end of the plants warm and humid. When warmed from the bottom, no misting of the container is necessary. The moisture in the root-growing area rises with the heat from the bottom.

Mother knows best 100percent right i cut my first clones a while back i cut 7 im flowering 3 that survived in week 3 of flower i polenated like 1/3 of one of them i flowered them at six weeks from transplant look great now ---i just choped put in water and root stimulator left for couple hours --look for a grow tip wit at least four nodes on it --make 45 about 1/4 inch below lower node --i normally peel the leaves down and off from lower nodes exposeing the lower level of meat -where roots actually grow from --then i dip in my starter (jel or powder) if powder i get wet in my liquid root stim ulator so powder will stick--put in my 1 inch rockwool cubes --prepared properly--seal check in about a week-mist cube if i have to most times if cubes wet enough will last through hole span cause it should be sealed up --to create moisture they love moisture morst but water should come form bottom like mother said --adv tak about 2 weeks --also i lke to do all steps on eating pad at about 78 to 80 deg

good luck --keep em green-- 1 luve

Flowering clones are supposed to have some kind of super branching capabilities. Theres a thread here somewhere on it.I've got one in the cloner now that was 3 weeks into flower, other than that I've had no first hand experience.

by da way i took my first and only clones from aplant in week 3 of flower went back to veg did some weird single blade leaves no sareation then converted back to reg leaves when sycle complete then i flowered after watching this hole thing happen for the first time--i always went from seed to harvest --i lost most of them but i learned how to do it --mainly by reading first --not like math or sumtin

clones from flower--takes a while to revege --but it will branch you will not believe --way more then a clone from veg by what i read -- like i said my first and only -----a hole different thing----me thinks its called monster crope --you got the revege time try it fo yo self

Thanx everyone. Between you guys&jorge cervantes, i just mite have some clones!i took 7 sunday&5 monday.both domes stay wet&humid. Fingers are crossed.it would be heaven if all 12 make it.un-likley i know! But i can hope!

Taking a clone while in flower is what's known as "monster cropping" and indeed it does give tons of extra shoots compared to a clone taken in veg. Some might argue it's not worth it because of the extra time it takes to reveg it VS just taking the clone during veg to begin with. I like the outcome of what monster cropping does so I'd say go for it.

I think not misting the clones at all for the first few days could be bad for them because their only way to feed is going to be through the leaves. I'm sure either can work, just my opinion on that one.

I've tried misting + doming, misting + no dome, no mist + dome, and no mist + no dome.

What worked best for me was to mist 4 times a day and not dome at all. Second best was to mist 4 times a day plus have a dome WITH holes in it so it could still get fresh air. The other methods I ended up with mold and or they just never rooted and died. But they all definitely liked having a heating pad under them on low and it sped up the process considerably.

Last thing is I've heard of tons of members here simply taking their cutting and leaving them in a glass of plain old water to root with great success. I haven't tried this method yet.

Peace. =)

Wudup brown bear- funny u mentioned the water thing.my 1st time i topped my plant im cloning,i put top in a brandy glass w/water.it sat in my window sil for week&1/2-looked like it was gona root so i planted it.then it died.
