clones not rooting

well my clones are now 5 days old there has been abit of growth on the clone it self but there is still no roots it has 60% humidity and 20-25 degrees in heat. there planted in jiff pelets and used rooting hormone.

Your humidity is way too low for cloning... go 90-95%-ish.. I will assume you mean Celsius with that temp, 20C is too low for cloning... keeping it 23-25C is about right.

if there growing thats a good sign, clones can root as quick as 3 days but take as long as 3 weeks in some cases.

you dont NEED 90-95% humidity, and 60% isnt way to low, plenty of people on here take cuttings, drop em right in water bottles and throw them in there grow room.

I won't retract my statement, but I will say that if it works for you.. that's great - Jorge's guidance generally doesn't lead people wrong, however.. and he highly recommends 90-95%.

I run 80 degrees and high humidity ..whatever way can take 2 weeks plus sometimes. Some strains clone like crazy..my blueberry is like that.

Some stains are difficult to clone no matter what...my last run of OG #18 clones yielded only 3 out of 25 cuttings.

I have a reptile heat mat under my cheapie tray & dome. Keep it moist inside. No idea the RH or the temp but I get almost 100% germination and clones rooting. Using rockwool or Root Shooters. It's the consistent humidity and temp.

Although I definitely don't agree that a 90-95% humidity is necessary for cloning as I have almost always had successful cloning from 50-70%, I do agree that 20C is definitely a bit low for cloning I'd actually say 25-28 is more around the appropriate temp depending on the strain. Low temps can cause slow root development.

Humidity may work better for some strains than others, I agree completely.. same with the ability for a plant to repair itself/recover from the one cloning and not being fast enough or skipping a step and causing air embolism.. 90-95% w/heat pad seems to spur growth of the roots more compared to other humidity values I've seen in various strains - is why I mentioned it. Mileage may vary, as always.

OP: Did you cut and go immediately to water with the cutting while you did the others, pre-hormone? NAA or IBA? amount used? pre-mixed, or mixed yourself?

They still haven't rooted after 5 days? I'd scrap the whole grow all together and watch the cloning tutorial that came out a few years ago called attack if the clones. What I would really do is be patient. I've never seen roots after 5 days and I've been growing since the 40's. It's a waiting game but be patient and don't drive yourself crazy
