kk, so im out of town for work, and my girl said when she opened the bubble cloner it smells like shit... there appears to be some small amounts of clear slime on the roots... the conditions were:

-tap water
-75 to 80F res temp
-small amounts of h202 added

we kept the water warm when first putting the clones in there to stimulate root growth... we have a fair amount of roots so we lowered the temp to 68F, anyways, today she did sterilize the res, but ive heard of the brown algae or whatever it is being hard to get rid of... she soaked the clones roots in h2o2 for an hour or two, and cleaned the res/airstones/hoses with h2o2... my plans are to transplant 1-2 of these into dirt to be mother plants, so my question is, should i clean the roots with physan20 before i transplant to dirt? would the slime still be able to effect the plant after transplant to dirt?

Same exact problem here man! Same rez temps and using H202 as well. Still tryin 2 figure this out. I transplanted the clones to my larger hydro setup anyways and the algae (im guessing that's what it is) was covering my airstones within 3 days and throwing my PH all outta whack. Every time I check the ph it's back up over 7. Sorry that I don't have any answers for ya, but if i figure it out I'll be sure to let ya know man. Hopefully someone else has had this same prob and can help soon.

Is this a slime created like if the water was sitting around for awhile. Like a clear root covering over the main root? The smell of the water and the slime reminded me of clones when I would clone in water. It was a root rot, I changed my methods.

I never done hydro only soil

well, there is definitely an issue, got home to find algae growing on my lid, and im sure now that my res is not light proof, i ordered some physan20 the other night, and when it arrives im treating my clones with it, along with every component, and getting a new res, definitely getting a beverage cooler type container for my res, like i did in my 600w setup... then im transplanting a couple clones to dirt to mother them...

everything ive read said that physan20 is about the only way to treat this problem, but also you must get whatever caused it under control (heat, light, etc)
