Cloning a clone

How old should a rooted clone be in order to take a clone off of it? Scenario; My friend is potting up clones that have rooted in an aerator. The clones already have decent side branching with a top that is ripe for taking to clone. Not to mention it is crunch time outside and every clone counts right now.

I have alwayz waited to see atleast 3-4 nodes before cloning, but thats just me.

Wont you be better of taking one of them clones and bushing it out to a mother and supply you with a undetermined amount of clones, rather then just cutting 1 clones off 1 undeveloped clone and only walking away with 1 cut and now 1 cut up clone?

Just trying to open up another avenue for you. Throwing one of them clones into a veg system, LSTing and topping will give you tons of potential clones. And this will all be done before outdoor planting season starts , for most of us at least.

Your way better off growing out a couple larger mothers and taking clones I had a mother with maybe 1 month of veg and I just took 8 clones from her today another 2 from a while back and I have atleast 8 more good sized clones or bud on her.

Just do it whenever then, worst case scenario - You take more clones from your mother.

Obviously don't be retarded about it, but if it looks like it will work and you know what you are doing you will be fine.

If you have mothers why are you trying to clone a clone? For your immediate question when ever you want, it will just have more or less of an effect on the plant.

Seriously,.... you stated originaly that your buddy had rooted clones and asked how long to clone the clone . 3-4 nodes is the norm as stated above . Yes you can do it sooner but may suffer ill effects as stated above . No need in getting shitty when ppl don't answer your immediate question those bro's are just offering good advice .

Whack away..............stress the young clones even more............maybe lose them all.........whack away if you feel the need..............edit:and maybe plan ahead a bit better next season..........
