cloning problems

first this is only my 3rd cloning, i am a newbie, and my first 2 i used replicator cloning gel and my success rate was 90% now i swithched to clonex (more expensive) and ive lost like 30% in 3 days. i am wondering if it is the solution or me? they are rooting in rockwool i ve cut all the clippings from the same plants 1 mo apart. when i cut them they are put directly into clonex clone soulition and ph'd water, then dipped in (clonex) and put into soaked rockwool. my problem is they are wilting and the stems are turning to mush. please help me !! TY

go back to the gel you used first. 90%? thats pretty good.
cut, dip, plant into medium. No heat over 80. mist with a mister a lot. i never even used a dome. but they improve your outcome.

i used replicator first only lost 3 out of 50 then i used clonex because its more expensive i thought it would be better, then i did 45 with clonex and have lost 10 so far

I think he is referring to "mushing" the inside of the puck just a bit. puck pellets what ever you want to call them are pretty tight it helps to break them up just a tad for extra oxygen circulation.

As for mom. If your stems are turning to mush because your medium IE your cubes are to wet. they are actually rotting. Heating pads are for beans.

you have so many threads can u give me a link?

and drty, i only soak the rockwool then plant them only then only mist till they are rooted, so should i squeeze the rockwool to dry it up some? and the heating pads i was told make them root faster i usually see roots in 5 days. how else is it done?
TY all for the advice this is my first grow and new to cloning also.

LOL>>>seems like the more you spend the less you get in return for your money...sometimes if it ain't broke you really shouldn't fix it.

Yes after you soak them give them a gentle squeeze. Rockwool holds water really well. I literally cut my clone, within seconds emerge in my rooting gel. let it set in the gel for a few seconds give it another 15 seconds or so before I put it in a 2" neoprene insert which goes into my 2" net cup. Net cup then gets put in my bubble cloner. Water is constantly splashed up onto the stem. I normally see my first stubble roots day 3ish. fully rooted and ready for veg in 10. here is pic of my roots at 15 days in my cloner. http://https://www.rollitup.org/hydroponics-aeroponics/434267-15-day-bubble-roots-96-a.html

so how does the bubble cloner work? i was looking into those do you loose any? how expensive is it to use? not the cost of machine, sounds so much easier then in rockwool and having to deal with ph over watering etc.......... here is my cloning area now. grow 120.jpg

It's my understanding that Clonex is the rooting solution but you still need to use a rooting powder or gel.

I went from cut to Clonex solution to Gel to Rapid Rooter. Here's my first clone on day 15.

So i did another batch of clones 45 and used replicator gel and its been 3 days and have lost 1 so far to "mush" next time i will try and squeeze the rockwool after i water it before i plant clone in it. wont have any mommies ready for a few weeks though. so we will have to wait and see. but i might just invest in aeroponic machine ???? :)

From looking at your veg setup it looks pretty decent honestly. I can tell you without a doubt that your have to much humidity in your domes though. Those domes should have 1 or 2 vents on the top that you can adjust. I would open them more. you dont have enough fresh air circulating in the dome itself. Opening and releasing some moisture is going to help with your rotting alot. I would really just try cracking those vents a little more. I dont use a dome for cloning because of the humdity. They dont work for me.

BTW the bubble cloner is just literally a couple of airstones in the bottom of a rubbermaid container. the lid is precut with holes for my cups. My thread showed 1 out of the 25 died. it only died because the cutting wasnt long enough to get close enough to the bubbles and dried up. other than that I never lose any clones. I took clones off of a flowering mother from her lower branches. They purpled and slightly wilted do to the shock but I didnt lose any of them. Normally I take from vegging mothers but still had the same results...

wow too much humidity huh? never thought of that because i was told u want like 99% humidity but i will try that next time, i also have a problem when i take them out of the dome thay tend to wilt? is that same reason? TY SOOooo MUCH!!

Leave them in the dome. He doesn't need a dome because he's using a bubbler so its constantly getting water and oxygen.

In rockwool you need a dome. And never squeeze rockwool. Its not like a sponge. It has billions of little air pockets like microscopic fibers and if you squeeze them they don't open back up all the way.

ok, so i bought a areo cloner today now how does this process work? i was told i need a timer? what kind of cloning solution? do u put nutes in the water? etc????? TY
